My name is Hugljúf and I am a midwife at an Icelandic unit run by midwives. My main tasks are maternity protection, pregnancy protection, births, and home births. Having twice had the privilege of attending lectures on breech births has made me fearless of coping with unexpected breech. I have gained self-esteem and valuable knowledge. Kamilla is an expert in her area and very professional in any way. I am ever grateful to her for her selfless work and for the confidence that her support and knowledge has given me.

Kamilla came to our little birthplace with a course on breech births. I was really happy with the course and I went from being afraid of breech births to being excited about them. Two days after the course I go east to a small fishing village here in Iceland. My first night comes in multigravida, she was in really hard labour, ten little toes stand out, the baby was in a standing position. At this point I was not scared, I had felt that the dilation was almost complete, I told the woman to go on all fours and tell her to push constantly. A little boy literally walks out and I never touched him until he was completely out. This went so well and I can only thank Kamilla that I was so calm and I knew exactly what to do.
After these life experiences, I have come to the conclusion that it is very important to teach the correct procedures for breech births, and how important it is that midwives are not afraid of breech births.

Just recently I attended a 4 hour breech seminar conducted by Dr Kamilla Gerhard Nielsen , it was a useful teaching session for me where I gained further insight into the various ways as obstetricians and midwives we can confidently and Safely support women toward physiological breech births . The collection of videos showing both births with models and real births , are an outstanding resource to reinforce the key messages. The teaching is also effective because Kamilla radiates and confident and positive mindset about these births. I highly recommend this seminar to obstetricians and midwives at all levels.

I am a specialist obstetrician working in Lund University hospital. I went straight from the seminar to on-call evening/night shift. At the delivering ward there was a nullipara induced with undiagnosed breech presentation, discovered when cervix was open 7 cm!
Due to the knowledge I acquied today I felt ready and confident to recommend vaginal birth in this case. I went beautifully! The baby was born at seven o´clock this evening. No complications occured. APGAR and pH was normal.
