Dystocia during labour can happen for a number of reasons. If the reason is occiput posterior or asynclinic position of the head, it can be uncovered through bellymapping or intrapartum ultrasound. It can often be corrected by movement, rebozo or manual rotation if the position is thoroughly diagnosed and the technique is known.
